Southend City Day

Writer: Southend YMCASouthend YMCA

On Saturday the 1st of March, All In Music were invited to be a part of first ever Southend City Day @visitsouthend @southendcityc

The event was started off with the amazing @jthc.music who brought in some original folk music, bringing on an energetic vibe to kickstart the event.

Up next was myself writing this @alinasalami_islost going second and brought along an original and some country-rock style music in attempt to keep this bustling energy going.

The wonderful @wearetriphazard then gave us an acoustic set featuring a popular ‘Taste’ by Sabrina Carpenter that the crowd all loved with lots of head banging and lip syncing was involved with that one.

And finally to end the Southend YMCA’s line up we finished with two thirds of Apricity ending the slot on a high with some well loved classics like ‘Number 1 Party Anthem’ by Arctic Monkeys.

For me and any other person lucky enough to experience the day would have heard the cacophony of music and the packed high street with artists on every corner painting, performing or selling their creations.

As someone who both performed and explored the stalls and the upbeat city of Southend roar to life with music and seeing the community being brought together, I believe Southend City Day should become an annual event as it gave a plethora of people the chance to listen and discover all different styles of music and other forms of art and self expression. It was an amazing time to see people of all ages come together and spread their love for music!
