​Southend YMCA invites schools, businesses, organisations, community groups, friends, and families to join our annual Y Have a Heart campaign—an uplifting way to celebrate kindness, compassion, and community while raising vital funds for local young people.

 

Each year, we support around 22,000 children and young people through a range of short‑ and long‑term interventions, including outreach, housing, mentoring, and wellbeing programmes for those facing significant challenges. By hosting a simple Valentine’s‑themed fundraising activity—such as a “Wear Red or Pink Day,” a heart‑themed bake sale or craft stall, or a donation collection—you can make a meaningful difference. Every activity, big or small, helps us provide safe accommodation, youth mentoring, mental health support, and positive activities for young people in Southend. All participating groups will receive a thank‑you certificate and can request a talk or assembly about our work.
