Southend YMCA: Christmas Jumper Appeal
Spread the festive cheer and help us support young people in Southend
We're calling on all Southend residents to get involved in our Christmas Jumper Appeal and help us raise vital funds for Southend YMCA.

We are a local charity that provides housing and youth services to young people in Southend, Essex. We work with young people aged 16-25 who are facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, unemployment, and mental health issues.

This Christmas, we're asking you to wear your Christmas jumper to work, school, or college and make a donation to Southend YMCA. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a big difference to the young people we support.

Here are some ways you can get involved:

  • Wear your Christmas jumper to work, school, or college on Friday 15th December

  • Make a donation to our 'Present for Life' Appeal page.

  • Spread the word about our appeal on social media using the hashtag #PresentforLife23

The Christmas Jumper appeal is part of our large annual Christmas fundraising campaign called 'Present for Life'.

Your present is for life. All donations to Southend YMCA go towards strengthening future prospects of the vulnerable young people we support. It's not something that will be opened, used once, and discarded.

The support that Southend YMCA gives its young people positively impacts their future selves and arms them with valuable skills needed for a fulfilling life. Whether that's our housing services that support residents to live independently and responsibly or our counselling and mentoring teams who work with young people in the local area to build core skills such as confidence and resilience.

We serve the young community without discrimination, we invest in the future of young people, and welcome others to join us to do the same.

When young people at risk of homelessness arrive at Southend YMCA they often arrive with a carrier bag and a few clothes, can you imagine how they feel?
