We will collect information from You in a few primary capacities. We obtain information directly from You, or through other Partner organisations who refer You to Us. This usually includes information You or the referral Partner send to us via post, email website, phone enquiry, submitting information through our event booking system or survey/contact form.
This usually includes, name, address, contact information, education/work status and any other similar organisations you are engaging with. This helps us deal with your enquiry and refer it onward (withing Southend YMCA) to the most relevant project delivered by Southend YMCA.
Due to the nature of our work, (including but not limited to) supporting vulnerable young people, fundraising and providing housing, we may require further personal information in order to protect, serve and improve our services and support You.
We may also ask for some additional information which can be shared at your discretion, while this is not essential, it will help us establish the best services We can offer You are Southend YMCA.

Specific projects will ask for different types of information in order to provide You with the services you require, this will be stated on project registration through a service User agreement or application form. These organisations are named through the application process of each project and will include specific information about how Your information is used, how long it is kept and the purpose of that specific project’s need for the information requested. This is is kept in accordance to the contract between Southend YMCA and the Service User at the start of project access.
We process information for various reasons across Our range of services and projects we provide and each Southend YMCA project will explicitly state their own lawful reasons for processing your data. Southend YMCA processes your information based, most commonly on, Consent, Contract, Legitimate Interest, Vital Interest, Legal Obligation and Vital Interests of our Service Users.
Different projects may require different information about You and will be stored and used in accordance to their (Southend YMCA) project and Funder/Partner requirements. We will never share Your personal information with any external third party, unless explicitly stated, on project sign up (for the reasons above) and/or if Southend YMCA is under a legal obligation to share information.
