About the project
All courses are accredited by First Aid Awards Ltd, which is regulated by OFQUAL, the examinations regulator. All training is done locally or at your venue.
All courses come with an official certificate that is yours to keep and is valid for three years and recognised nationwide.
The workshops are designed with young children’s learning abilities and concentration levels in mind and are delivered in a morning or afternoon session with regular refreshment breaks. All children receive a certificate at the end of their training. Celebration events can be held encouraging community ownership and participation.
Training is for those between the ages of 8-11. Training can be delivered in community venues including schools, after school clubs and local clubs.
How we can help
Our courses are dedicated to the advancement of first aid knowledge across Essex and have been providing a range of courses to help local individuals and organisations to meet health and safety requirements, empower their personnel and ultimately save lives.
The training introduces children to a variety of first aid topics. Training includes the use of interactive resources, such as first aid manikins, which enables the children to get hands-on allowing them to explore and to mentally and physically link the training with their daily lives. Our trainers incorporate real-life scenarios drawn from participants' own experience to help the children to embed their new learning. At the end of this training children will be able to:
Learn how to engage with emergency services
Be CPR trained
Know how to place someone in the recovery position
Be aware of how to assist someone who is choking or in shock
Develop wound treatment skills
''The SOS Bus bring their hands-on knowledge to life in both a fun and practical way. If you need to brush up on your first aid skills these guys are great! I learnt a lot!"
